Our Values & Story
We believe in offering a price competitive replacement boat lift canopy that is made at a high quality.
My name is David Sobieski, and my company makes fantastic replacement boat lift canopies. I joined the Air Force in 1987 and was trained as a Parachute Rigger and Fabrication Specialist. I was taught to pack and repair parachutes. It was my job to make sure pilots and flight crews were safe. After being honorably discharged, I married my wife Amy. I convinced her to use $800 of our wedding money to buy an industrial sewing machine, and we started our business on the front porch of our apartment.
Our “Mom-and-Pop Shop” grew as did our family, and in 2004 we moved our business to Lakes Country in north-central Minnesota. Now we operate our business from a 6000-square-foot manufacturing facility where we employ some pretty amazing people. Our employees are some of the most skilled and experienced American craftspeople in the replacement boat lift canopy industry. Their conscientiousness and strong work ethic are the stitching that holds our canopies together. These values are woven into the very fabric in our covers and are synonymous with quality, reliability and value.
I learned my trade as a parachute rigger, so I understand the importance of doing a job the right way and standing behind our work. We are an innovative company. And while we work hard, we also think harder. We are constantly designing and engineering a better product. We want to offer you choices.
Our goal is to make the best boat lift canopies at the most affordable prices on the market today. We want to satisfy you and make you feel good about your purchase so you’ll tell your neighbors where they should go to buy their next boat lift canopy.
We want to thank you for considering our family-owned business.

Measure twice and order once. It’s important to know what brand of frame you have. Often times that information is on your old canopy. When you don’t have that old canopy or that information is not there, please use the canopy illustrations to compare what your canopy frame looks like to ours. Then it is important to match your measurements with the tables of various measurements on our site. Lastly, if you are able to identify your brand, you can visit the How to Measure Your Canopy page on our website for more detailed information pertaining to your branded canopy.
We send care instructions and sell products to help you keep your canopy clean. It’s important to remeber to use mild soaps and soft bristle brushes. Fabric coatings are there to protect the canopy from UV. If you think of fabric like your skin, harsh sunlight or cleaner burns so its important to remove as much dirt and grime as possible without damaging the fabric.
We roll our canopies when we package them so that you will be able to unroll your canopy across the back or spine of your frame and have it fold down overall for the sides. We send written instructions with illustrations that show how this is done. Realize that canopies can be heavy and we recommend that you have help.
Installation instructions are included with your canopy and are sewn on the inside of your canopy.
Most Canopies weigh anywhere from 30 to 60 lbs depending on fabric choice and size.
We use a PVC coated fabric manufactured by Shelterite, an American made product, which is the best and better than laminate. A laminate fabric is layers of fabric, glued to a base skim. Glue gets warm and layers DE-laminates over time. Meaning, layers eventually separate and come apart. Coated PVC is dipped and cured onto a tighter polyester weave. Again, it’s not an imported fabric but an American-made industry standard.
Wind whip is always a concern with a deep canopy that doesn’t have the metal frame work to stablize the fabric it will whip in the wind and come apart. A woven fabric is often a better choice when purchasing a shorestation.
